It’s gameday in Lexington! Time to make some bold predictions.

It’s game day in the Bluegrass. The Big Blue Nation will welcome home their Wildcats fresh off ending their 31-year losing streak to rival Florida.

Today’s opponent is Murray State of the FCS.

The Racers aren’t exactly striking fear in many Kentucky fans; however, anything can happen. Let’s make some bold predictions on today’s game.

Spoiler: I won’t be picking the Racers.

The game will be tied after the first quarter of play

Though Kentucky usually does end up on top, they always seem to make these FCS games interesting. A year ago they trailed Eastern Kentucky 13-10 at halftime. I don’t see Murray State keeping it close for a whole half, but I surely can see them keeping it interesting early.

Lynn Bowden finally takes a kick return to the house

The SEC All-Freshman returner a year ago still has yet to return a touchdown in his career. That has to change, right? Lynn Bowden is due to break one to the house. Coming off scoring his first career receiving touchdown last week I have a feeling Bowden breaks his touchdown drought on kick returns today at home.

A.J. Rose will be Kentucky’s leading rusher

Mark Stoops did not say whether Benny Snell would be on a pitch count this week, though he did say the team was ready to get other runners some action. If today’s game gets out of hand, expect Snell to get some rest A.J. Rose showed us all he can rack up yards quickly. He brought his first touch of the season 55 yards to the house and had 134 yards on just 11 carries in the spring game. Expect a big day from #10.

Kentucky and Murray State will kick off at noon. Tune on SEC Alternative network.
