The Kentucky Wildcats have scored a commitment in the Class of 2020.

It came Sunday when Richie Leonard IV announced his pledge to Kentucky on Twitter:

Leonard, who hails from Leonard high School in Cocoa (FL), also holds scholarship offers from the North Carolina Tar Heels, Purdue Boilermakers, Buffalo Bulls, Louisville Cardinals and Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

The 6-4, 285-pounder is listed as an offensive tackle, though he has yet to receive an evaluation or ranking in the 2020 class. This is the first commitment for Kentucky in 2020.

Kentucky is going to lose a host of lineman over the next two years, including George Asafo-Adjei, Mason Wolfe, Bunchy Stallings and Logan Stenberg. If Leonard remains firm in his commitment, he’ll arrive on campus when EJ Price, Landon Young, Drake Jackson and Luke Fortner are all seniors. That would give Leonard time to develop before competing for one of their vacant spots as a redshirt freshman or true sophomore in 2021.
