Garo Yepremian, kicker for the Miami Dolphins back in the 1970’s, has died at 70 of cancer.
I remember Garo well. I was a fan of the Dolphins in those days, and my brother a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. I’ll never forget the game between the two in the 1971 playoffs when Yepremian hit that 37-yarder in double-overtime to win the game. The look on my brother’s face was … priceless.

Mark Stoops on consistency, the new stadium, and defense. I like to hear this:
"I actually think we should be at full strength. Nothing major happened throughout spring or late in spring. I feel like we’ll be in good shape," he said. "Had a few surgeries. (Freshman tight end) C.J. Conrad had some surgery and should be good to go when fall camp starts. So I think we’re in pretty good shape."
-
Today’s U ranks Mark Stoops #13 in the SEC. Winning some games would no doubt change that.

A look at the 2015 Kentucky redshirt freshman class. When you look down this list, you see some really good players who have matured an extra year. That’s going to make a big difference. I agree with the writer that Denzil Ware is likely the star of the bunch.

Willie Cauley-Stein says there is no part of him that doesn’t love basketball. Methinks he doth protest too much. But one thing for sure, Willie is a competitor. That’s what I’d want to know about if I were evaluating him for my team.

Three UK targets have visits this weekend, including LaGerald Vick to Kentucky.
-
UK recruit Harry Giles III talks about his recruitment and his spring so far. I think he’s going to be hard to get out of North Carolina. But never underestimate Calipari.
-
Larry Bird believes Willie Cauley-Stein is a $100 million player. Coming from Larry Bird, I’d consider that a serious compliment.

What are the fastest offenses in college football? Well, you might not be too surprised to see Oregon near the top, but Baylor’s is the fastest. Kentucky ranks just outside the top third of college football in seconds per play.

Jim Delaney just got a big jump in pay, to nearly $2.1 million. Meh. Waste of money in my opinion.

Winning is the only thing that can save Tom Crean. Well, that’s usually the case, I’d say.
