Gonzaga wants us, according to multiple tweets from last night’s game against St. Mary’s, which Gonzaga won. It’s hard to fault them, but they have seen nothing like the defense Kentucky is capable of. Perhaps we’ll meet in the Final Four, but then, everyone wants to meet us there.

Yes, indeed. Come get some, Zags. Do keep in mind the very wise admonition to be careful what you wish for.

Hamilton, Stump, Ulizio, Dinson, D. Kelly, Custis. Maybe it's time folks started paying attention when @UKCoachStoops' staff offers a kid.

Hate to lose another to the Buckeyes, but if you can’t run with the big dogs, you’d better stay on the porch.
Rumblings about DaVon Hamilton and Ohio State. Buckeyes like the UK commit. Understandable. He's a beast. pic.twitter.com/OsNLTeIPHO

UK and USF will meet in the Hoophall Miami Invitational in 2015. USF to return the game in Rupp Arena in 2016.
-
As I mentioned earlier, tomorrow is a chance for UK to get payback for the last 18-0 UK team, who was actually 19-0 when they went down to South Carolina and lost.
2015 is a much more balanced squad than that one.
-
Speaking of payback, Jerry Tipton reminds us that only last season, South Carolina sent UK home from Columbia with a loss.
-
Heh. “The Knicks should play like clowns for Karl Towns.” Hilarious.

Well, we all know who’s gonna be #1 in recruiting this year. Who will be #2? Good question.

Alabama loses yet another close game at Arkansas in overtime. They have lost 3 games by a total of 5 points, all to good teams.

Virginia pretty much crushed Georgia Tech into a fine powder, rolled them up and smoked them. Your turn, Kentucky.

Suddenly, the “fire Tom Crean” talk we had been hearing all season is ringing very, very hollow.

Ray Harper is getting it done at Western. So proud of my alma mater.

Poor Alabama. So many close games, so few victories to show for them.

First of all, let me say that I have absolutely zero interest in “deflate gate.” I might become more interested when the investigation is complete and the NFL issues its findings. Right now, it’s just a bunch of finger-pointing and suspicious circumstances.
I have to object to this, though:
“We’re gonna be fine,” Brady said. “This isn’t ISIS. No one’s dying.”
This is remarkably tone-deaf, a moral equivalence so discordant that it probably offends the sensibilities of almost everybody, like fingernails on a chalkboard. Way to make yourself easier to dislike, Tom Brady. If that was your intent — mission accomplished.

Turns out mom was right: You can catch a cold from being cold, or more accurately, the rhinovirus seems to replicate better at slightly lower than body temperature, and your body’s immune system react less robustly. Hat tip: Instapundit

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia, has died at 90 years old. His half-brother Salman, 79, will be the new king. This is of great interest to me because of the business relationships I have had with the Kingdom over the years. I have been there many times, and enjoyed every visit, although my last trip was over a decade ago now. Last time I went, King Fahd was still alive.
King Salman has a good reputation as the former governor of Riyadh for running a very clean government with little corruption. It will be interesting to see how that translates to the Kingdom as a whole, as corruption has always been an issue at the top over the years, but has gradually improved under Abdullah. Let’s hope his half-brother, likely the last son of Abdulaziz al Saud to rule, does even better. Allowing women to drive would be a nice place to begin, but don’t look for that anytime soon. More likely it will be the next king to take that step.
