The Super Bowl is now set, with the Seattle Seahawks facing off against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX. Seattle had a stirring come-from-behind overtime victory over the Green Bay Packers last night, to the consternation of Packer fans everywhere.

I talk to Posting & Toasting, SB Nation’s New York Knicks community, about Willie Cauley-Stein.

2016 Derryck Thornton is leaning toward staying in 2016. Reclassifying a year earlier has been a very common thing lately, more common than staying on schedule.
-
UK recruit Malik Monk has a 50-point game, and throws down a huge dunk. This kid is really special. He’d look good in Blue and White.
-
The Alabama Basketball Blog is pragmatic about the loss Alabama took to Kentucky on Saturday. After having been on the other end of this during football season vs. the Tide, I can appreciate this approach.
-
As Wildcats flourish, other SEC teams feed off each other. Indeed, it very much seems that way; Arkansas, the putative second-best team in the league, has dropped two games in a row. Florida, a perennial contender, seems extremely vulnerable after having lost convincingly to Georgia.

Michigan’s Chris LeVert lost for the season due to a foot injury. Man, that’s really bad news for a Michigan team that has had a rough season already.

What to make of Florida losing to Georgia in Athens? I honestly see this Florida team as highly suspect. I also think Georgia is very much a good team, although I wonder if they are good enough. They need a road win against a quality team.

Tom Crean: From hot seat to B1G Coach of the Year? It could happen. Crean is probably just glad he doesn’t have to face the hot wrath of IU fans from losing to us every year. Better off going out a winner.

The NCAA enters uncharted waters Saturday with the full cost of attendance legislation. There have been concerns expressed, and I think with significant justification, that the "full cost of attendance" for revenue sports will come at the expense of non-revenue sports. I wonder if these revenue sport athletes are fine with being the reason for the elimination of scholarships for other student-athletes, and interestingly enough, student-athletes for which the name is not an essential contradiction in terms.
I like the idea of FCA, but I have reservations about the practical implementation.

We see you, Lindsey Vonn. Very impressive stuff. Hope you’ll be skiing for us in the next Winter Olympics in 2018.
