Some are calling for Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott to quit college rather than play another season before he becomes eligible for the NFL Draft to minimize the likelihood of injury.
We heard the same thing last year for Jameis Winston. He didn’t take that advice, and I doubt Elliott will either. To be fair, though, the career life of an NFL running back is very short.

In my opinion, Chris Jones’ was way more impressive than this one, but it’s pretty good.

More on Dick Vitale’s dislike for the platoons (drink). He’s way off base, but Vitale is a nice man and I am fond of him. I know Coach Cal is as well, and vice versa.
"… You can get away with that against a lot of teams. But I will guarantee you, in March, he will not use the platoon system."
Dick, I can almost guarantee he will, just to prove you wrong if for no other reason. Calipari is really into that.
Former Dookie Jay Williams agrees with Vitale. Calipari has proven lots of people wrong since he’s been at Kentucky. I like his chances of dong it again.

2016 rematch of UTEP and Kentucky looks like its not going to happen. Coach Tim Floyd points the finger at UK and claims that the Wildcats "backed out." I found this comment unnecessary:
"We’ll just stay with a 1-0 record against the Kentucky Wildcats in college basketball. If they never want to play again and act like the game never happened, for the reasons why it occurred are significant, then we’ll never play again."
Good grief. Entitlement, much?

John Clay has your SEC basketball standings. I can’t decide if Florida is coming around or not — their SEC schedule so far has been cupcake city. It gets tougher on Saturday where they are on the road against Georgia, a short turn-around from Auburn to a road game. Kentucky has one of those at the end of this month.
