Welcome to Black Friday. If you are reading this and haven’t gone shopping yet, you are probably too late. Petra and I have never once participated in Black Friday, having better things to do with our time than fight huge crowds trying to beat thousands of others to deals on high-tech toys. For those of you who do enjoy it, why don’t you explain why in the comments. Even if I’m the only one interested to know why you do it, it would be nothing if not cathartic.
Tweet of the Morning
For anyone who thinks folks are nasty on Black Friday, this is nothing. In '96, I saw blood get spilled in Toys R Us over a Tickle Me Elmo.

Ah, America.

The Louisville Courier-Journal figures the Cardinals have all the advantages against Kentucky, except for kick coverage and Reggie Bonafon versus the UK secondary. I think Towles is good enough to be at least even with Louisville’s secondary, but then again, I’m not exactly unbiased.
-
Should Kentucky fans consider Mark Stoops’ second season as a success? Yes. Perhaps not an outstanding one, but yes. There, saved you a click.

Mark Stoops is happy with preparation for Louisville and the practice sessions this week.

Can the Wildcats bounce back from a long losing streak and upset the Cardinals? I sure hope so.

The New York Post says we should “forget Kentucky,” because the Big East is the story of college basketball. Whatever, dude. An all-star team from the Big East couldn’t beat Kentucky’s Blue squad. So there.

Bored, and happen to be in Lexington, I guess:

Heh.
Cal on 'finishing' team he likes includes twins, Booker and two 'bigs.' He didn't specify which two 'bigs.'
— Jerry Tipton (@JerryTipton) November 28, 2014My vote would be for Karl-Anthony Towns and Trey Lyles, but it could also be Willie Cauley-Stein. Heck, it might even be Dakari if he makes his free throws like he did the other day. A Dakari Johnson that makes free throws is a weapon no opponent wants to face.

- LSU offering “Black Friday” deals on sporting events tickets. Hey, UK, you’re messing up here. This is a great idea that you should shamelessly rip off.

Black Friday deals still entice shoppers to wait hours on Thanksgiving. I think Black Friday is the Devil. Never participated, and never will.

Stanford engineers develop a “heat shield” for buildings:
Stanford University engineers have developed a new ultrathin, multilayered, nanophotonic material that can help to cool he building and is environment friendly as well. The material reflects heat away from buildings and also directs heat from inside out into the space.
Awesome. Who said American ingenuity was dead?
