The Central Michigan game was NOT one the Cats should look back on fondly, as they gave up a huge 19 point lead at the half only to escape with a 71-68 victory. Let's hope this is not a sign of how UK Hoops will fare on the road this year, as CMU - while fiesty - is child's play compared to the battles they'll face once SEC play begins.
One bright spot: Jennifer O'Neill, whose three point performance had noticeably stalled, hit 5/15 against the Chippewas, as she cruised to a 19 point game. Only two other Wildcats scored in double figures: Makayla Epps had 12 points, while Linnae Harper had 11. As the Cats hit only 37% of their FGs and were 69% from the charity stripe, this was one of those games when you thank the basketball gods for the victory and move on.
What should the Cats look to face in St. Thomas? The Cats are currently ranked #10, a feat none of their upcoming opponents can claim. Oklahoma did receive 34 votes in last week's USA Today Coaches Poll, while South Florida received 7. What that means remains to be seen.
Sadly, none of these games are televised, but you can listen in via UK Sports Radio or catch it streaming via Team 1 Sports.
