Tyrese Maxey may be committed to Kentucky, but he’s still going to enjoy the recruiting process with the Wildcats.
On Monday, Maxey announced he will visit Kentucky on the weekend of Sept. 21.

That will be when Kentucky Football plays host to Mississippi State in primetime. Lexington will be rocking that weekend, so it’s a good chance for Maxey to see how much fun UK’s campus can be for a big game.
As of now, Maxey is the only basketball recruit coming to town that weekend. Five-star guard Bryan Antoine was set to visit that weekend before he committed to Villanova.
Maxey, who committed to Kentucky back in May, is the seventh-ranked player in the nation and second-ranked combo guard among all class of 2019 recruits, according to 247 Sports Composite. He’s also the top-ranked player from the state of Texas.
“Kentucky has been my dream school ever since I can remember,” Maxey wrote on his USA Today Blog after his commitment. ”I’ve wanted to play for Coach Cal since I saw him coach Derrick Rose. He does a great job of coaching guards and getting them to the next level. It’s a dream come true.”
Maxey is currently part of a three-man recruiting class for Kentucky that includes five-star forward Kahlil Whitney and four-star forward Dontaie Allen.
