In-state star Dontaie Allen has a visit to Kentucky scheduled on Wednesday, and his Kentucky offer might come while he’s in Lexington.
Allen is a 6-6 wing who’s rated the No. 134 prospect in the country on the 247 Sports composite. He’s rated four stars as well. He’s from Falmouth, and has been a big fan of Kentucky, and still is as he gets recruited by the Wildcats.
In an interview with Ben Roberts of the Lexington Herald-Leader, Allen spoke about his interest in John Calipari’s program, and he also briefly talked about his big visit.
“I really like the program — everything they’ve got going on over there,” Allen said. “They said they were going to get me in for a practice so I can see how they orchestrate practices, help my game, and just watch and learn.
“I think it’s going to be nice. Intense — that’s what I’m really looking for in college. So to get a sneak peek at what college practices look like, it’s going to be a good opportunity.”
Allen also said that a Kentucky offer “would mean the world,” but his family said that if he doesn’t get the offer this week, Kentucky would still be in the mix.
Allen currently has 25 offers, many of them coming in the last three weeks. Kentucky could very well end up being the 26th this week.
