2019 is shaping up to be another big recruiting year for the Kentucky Wildcats, and Scottie Lewis could be part of it.
The five-star guard was recently interviewed by Jon Hale of the Louisville Courier Journal. There, Lewis talked about his game, what he can bring to a team, and his drive to end up in the NBA. The most intriguing part came towards the end when he talked about his potential visit to Kentucky somewhere around September 29th.
He went on to talk about how he really likes the way they produce greatly talented and athletic guards. He mentioned Malik Monk, John Wall, and De’Aaron Fox and the leadership they all bring to the table.
Lewis believes he could bring that same leadership to the team. Coach Cal’s style of coaching is another aspect of Kentucky that Lewis would enjoy being around, and he believes that Cal could take his game to another level.
Earlier last month, he was interviewed by Rivals.com about Kentucky again and he spoke very highly of the team and how they could benefit each other.
“That is Kentucky. If I choose to be one of those players that is a one-and-done, basketball only type of guy, Kentucky is definitely the school that I will be headed to. All of the schools we have talked about, they will hopefully be in that list of schools that I get down to once I make a cut list, but they are always texting me and giving me pointers about what I can do better.”
Luckily for Kentucky, his mindset has only become more focused on the Wildcats in the past month with his potential college visit soon to come. Lewis also happens to be Bryan Antoine who also will be deciding himself if he wants to be a Wildcat, which you can read about here.
