Keion Brooks trims list and UK makes the cut

The elite wing from the Hoosier state is a strong UK target going into the summer.

Keion Brooks has trimmed his list, and UK has made the cut.

The big wing from Indiana announced his list of 10 schools in consideration on Sunday, which included the Wildcats:

The list speaks to how big of a prospect that Brooks is, holding offers from the North Carolina Tar Heels, Michigan State Spartans, Indiana Hoosiers, UCLA Bruins and Kansas Jayhawks among many others.

You’ll notice Kansas did not make the cut for Brooks, who didn’t make the cut for Bill Self’s USA U18 Team. Even so, this is widely believed to be a battle between Indiana and UK for Brooks with Michigan State running in third place.

The 6-8 forward fits the mold of what Kevin Knox was in Lexington this past season. Brooks is a proven scorer with solid ball-handling ability who can be a matchup nightmare.

UK has been making a strong push for Brooks this spring, which may explain two-straight crystal ball picks for the Cats. But they will have a battle on their hands to land the talented wing and pull him from the home-state Hoosiers, who have made him a top priority in the 2019 class.

Still, Indiana has rarely had success recruiting against John Calipari, so hopefully, that will stay the case with Archie Miller now at the helm in Bloomington.
