The Kentucky Wildcats coaching staff is continuing to recruit hard in the Class of 2020.
Sharife Cooper, a 6-0, 160-pound point guard from Marietta, GA, is on the list of players already offered by John Calipari and company. Cooper is a top-5 point guard according to 247Sports.com and Rivals.com (2nd at 247Sports and 4th at Rivals).
Cooper is currently playing in the City of Palms tournament in Fort Myers, FL and Tony Barbee flew down to watch Cooper lead Marietta High School to a 71-48 win over Miami Christian. He had 18 points and 6 assists in the victory.
Cooper already holds an official scholarship offer from Kentucky, along with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, and Tennessee Volunteers, among several others.

Pat Lawless at PrepCircuit.com caught up with Cooper to talk about his play and his recruitment. When asked about the increased attention he’s getting in his recruitment, Cooper said he’s “completely open right now and I haven’t made any decisions or anything like that. I’m open right now.”
Two of Cooper’s high school teammates, Isaac Okoro and Babatunde Akingbola, are current Auburn commits for the class of 2019, and Cooper said they are both recruiting him to Auburn.
For Cooper, he just wants a place where he can play his style of basketball.
“The way I play I can distribute and play basketball freely. I can do pick and rolls, make plays or do anything. I just like to play free so wherever I can play free, run up and down and bring energy is where I’m going to college.”
As of now, Kentucky and Auburn seem to be the front runners for Cooper, but there is obviously still a lot of time left in his recruitment. Be sure to read the full Prep Circuit Q&A with Sharife Cooper here.
