JJ Weaver is an all-state defensive end and one of the best players in the entire state of Kentucky.
On Friday November 30th at 3:30 pm, he will be making his college decision at Moore Traditional High School in Louisville.
Kentucky appears to be in great shape for Weaver, and the timing also seems favorable for the Cats to sign the four-star edge rusher. At 6-6 and 240 pounds, Weaver has the body and strength to make an immediate impact in college. He recently led his high school to one of the best seasons in it’s history while putting the state on notice of just how good he really is.
Not only did Weaver earn first-team all-state honors for his efforts at defensive-end, but he was also named first-team all-state as a tight-end as well. Though it’s fairly certain that the four-star stud’s position in college will be on the defensive side of the ball.
Kentucky and Louisville are the only schools remaining that really have any chance at landing Weaver on Friday. The timing of his decision has to bode well for Kentucky when you take into consideration the coaching uncertainty at both Louisville and Purdue.
Coming into the week, Weaver was also considering Purdue and Miami. Having Miami in his final four wasn’t by accident. Weaver grew up in South Florida in Broward County. So choosing to play for the U would be a coming home party in a sense, but that’s no longer in play.
Kentucky hosted Weaver for his official visit on October 20th and it reportedly went well. He has to be watching Josh Allen and thinking that could be him one day, right?
UK’s dominating defense this season has to hold some type of weight for Weaver and others as they make their final decisions.

247’s crystal ball has 10 predictions in with nine of them in favor of the Kentucky Wildcats. I predict there will be a Yahtzee situation on Friday when JJ Weaver makes his final choice.
TOUCHDOWN MUSTANGS!!! After recovering the squib kick, Vaden hits Griggs who takes it to the 2. JJ Weaver and Raevon does the rest. Mustangs 32, Colts 0. 32 seconds left in the half. #KNOWmoore pic.twitter.com/cw1CFZzeBH
