The recruitment of Vernon Carey Jr. is winding down, and a decision could come before the month of November ends.
In an interview with Evan Daniels, Carey talked about his recruitment, Kentucky’s interest, and when his decision could come.
Initially, Carey was planning to sign in the spring. Then, he moved up his decision timeline to around his birthday in February, but he later admitted he could commit at the end of 2018.
Now, Carey plans to decide in late November, though it won’t be in time for the early signing period.
“I should decide by late November, after Thanksgiving probably,” he said.
Carey is set to take another official visit with the Michigan State Spartans, one of the perceived favorites in his recruitment. He just had a visit recently with the Duke Blue Devils, then hosted Kentucky and Duke coaches for in-home visits this week.
Depending on who you ask, all three of those schools have gotten significant buzz recently. Carey added he plans to cut his list to three soon, so those could be who he ultimately is picking between in the coming weeks.
Recently, recruiting experts have been picking Michigan State for the top-three recruit in the Class of 2019. However, Duke is leading the 247 Sports crystal ball with over 50-percent of the predictions.
With this news, Kentucky should know where Carey and James Wiseman are going by the end of November, and it’s possible Isaiah Stewart decides by then as well.
