Ashton Hagans will be in Lexington very soon.
To this point, Hagans has been expected to reclassify and be on UK’s roster for next season. However, the UK pledge is still finishing up coursework in order to be eligible for next season, and there’s been uncertainty as to when he’d make it to campus.
Now, KSR’s TJ Walker reports the plan is for Hagans to make it to UK in a few weeks after finishing up his coursework, according to Game Elite director Chris Williams.
This is great news for Hagans and UK, as it will give him more time to work with his new teammates and develop some chemistry before they leave for the Bahamas trip in August.
There had previously been some doubt as to whether Hagans would complete his coursework in time to make the Bahamas, trip, but now it sounds like he’ll be here as early as a full month before that trip even happens.
While he may not arrive to campus until after most of the new Cats, he has the potential to be the best guard on UK’s roster next season.
Be sure to read Walker’s full report, which includes tidbits about Hagans’ work ethic and what kind of impact he can have at the college level.
