The Kentucky Wildcats will soon learn the fate of Kevin Knox.
The star freshman wing is mulling over what his next move will be in regards to the 2018 NBA Draft. He can test the waters and eventually return to UK, or he could just go ahead and sign with an agent, ending any suspense on a him return.
Whatever Knox decides to do, it will come soon. According to SEC Country’s Kyle Tucker, Knox’s NBA decision is “imminent.”
Knox met with his family over the weekend to decide on what he’ll do, so we should expect him to announce his decision sometime this week. Knox’s father has indicated that his son could return for his sophomore season, but until that actually happens, it’s better to assume Knox leaves and likely becomes a lottery pick in this year’s draft.
Knox came to UK as a highly-touted five-star recruit with a commitment that surprised the college basketball world, as he was widely expected to pick Duke.
The Tampa product wound up leading UK in points per game with 15.6. He also led the team in 3-pointers made, and finished second on the team in total rebounds. He was named the SEC’s Freshman of the Year, and landed on the first-team all-conference list.
