2013 center Marcus Lee from Antioch (Cal.) Deer Valley became the first official member of the Kentucky Wildcats 2013 recruiting class. Earlier this morning, Lee tweeted a picture of his signed (and presumably sent) National Letter of Intent. Today is the first day of the Early Signing Period.
Lee is the 18th-ranked prospect in the country, according to 247 Sports Composite rankings. He is expected to compete for playing time at the 4 and 5 positions for the Wildcats next year.
Fellow committed prospects Derek Willis and James Young are also expected to sign their Letter of Intents in the Early Signing Period. Two other committed prospects, Aaron Harrison and Andrew Harrison, remain committed to Kentucky but have publicly said they will not sign LOIs until the spring.
