The Kentucky Wildcats have lost one of their top pledges from the Class of 2019.
On Thursday, UK watched Shawnkel Knight-Goff announce his decommitment on Twitter, just weeks after making his pledge.
“I would like to gracefully thank University Of Kentucky for their efforts in recruiting me. University of Kentucky is a great school,” said Knight-Goff. “I feel as if my commitment was rushed and not fully thought through and I want to make the best decision for my future. Therefore, I plan to research my decision a little further. I’m going to open my recruiting process back up as I continue my search for the college that is best fit for my career & most importantly, my education. Again, thank you Kentucky for your interest.
A 6-1, 210-pound defensive end from Louisville, Knight-Goff plays at Doss Magnet Career Academy. 247 Sports Composite has him ranked 588th nationally and 43rd among weakside defensive ends. He also plays running back in high school.
Knight-Goff holds offers from Purdue, Louisville, Cincinnati and Indiana among others.
UK will probably try to stay in the running for the talented pass-rusher, but it’s always hard to reel back in recruit once he’s decommitted.
