Putting Alabama and Georgia at the top makes a lot of sense, as does Auburn in third. There are some surprises, as it’s surprising to see Florida up that high after a 4-7 season last year.
It’s also kind of surprising to see South Carolina and Tennessee above Kentucky. The Wildcats aren’t world beaters by any means, but they beat both teams last year and could very well make greater strides this year.
Kentucky being a longshot to win the SEC is accurate and not a surprise, but if we’re taking this as an indication that Kentucky is going to be 11th in the conference, I’d beg to differ.
Mark Stoops and co. are returning their best defenders in Mike Edwards and Josh Allen, and they’ll look to up-and-comers like Lonnie Johnson Jr. to have a breakout year.
On the offensive end, Benny Snell will be in his junior year looking to smash through UK’s record book and Terry Wilson will provide an upgrade at quarterback.
