How many games will Kentucky Football win this upcoming season?

Josh Nagel of Sportsline gives his prediction on how Kentucky will fare in 2018. Nagel picked the over or under on the win total for each SEC team.

Most sportsbooks have set Kentucky’s win total at 6. Nagel picked the over for Kentucky.

Kentucky looks to build on its success as they have won 7 games in two straight seasons now under Mark Stoops.

Last year, UK was only a handful of plays away from winning 9 or even 10 games. They lost 3 games by a total of 5 points, which includes last minute blunders against Florida and Ole Miss, as well as a failed two-point conversion against Northwestern in the Music City Bowl.

While UK loses arguably its most important player in QB Stephen Johnson, they return the likes of Benny Snell, CJ Conrad, Josh Allen, and Mike Edwards.

Not to mention, they have a nice little QB battle that’s been going on since the start of spring football between Gunnar Hoak, who Nagel notes as the favorite to win the job, and Terry Wilson, who I personally see as the best fit to replace Stephen Johnson.

Nagel suggests that Kentucky could very well start the season 4-1. My guess would be wins at home over Central Michigan, Murray State, Mississippi State, and South Carolina, while losing at Florida.

With Kentucky’s schedule seemingly harder than it was last season, we could see the win total push with UK ending the season with only 6 wins despite having an immense amount of talent. However, Nagel says Stoops has earned the benefit of the doubt and 7 wins would “hardly come as a shock.”

Is it September 1st yet? How many games do you think Kentucky Football will win in 2018?
