We’re starting to get over/under win totals, and Kentucky’s O/U from Bovada isn’t great.
Bovada set UK’s O/U win total at 5.5, tied for the fourth-lowest in the SEC (ahead of only Vanderbilt). The complete rankings:
- Alabama Crimson Tide (11)
- Georgia Bulldogs (10.5)
- Auburn Tigers (9)
- Mississippi State Bulldogs (8.5)
- Florida Gators (8)
- South Carolina Gamecocks (7.5)
- LSU Tigers (7)
- Texas A&M Aggies (7)
- Missouri Tigers (6.5)
- Ole Miss Rebels (6)
- Arkansas Razorbacks (5.5)
- Kentucky Wildcats (5.5)
- Tennessee Volunteers (5.5)
- Vanderbilt Commodores (4.5)
Give me the over. Kentucky has six should-win games on the schedule this year: Central Michigan, Murray State, South Carolina (given the fact that somehow, Mark Stoops owns South Carolina), Vanderbilt, at Missouri and Middle Tennessee. Tennessee is close to being a should-win game, but given that it’s in Knoxville, it’s hard to set an expectation for victory there.
And who knows what Louisville will be like without Lamar Jackson, but the Wildcats went in last year with seemingly decent odds and got stomped.
Similar to last year, Kentucky has a schedule that is favorable for the Cats to get just enough wins to make a bowl. Six should be expected, but seven might take an upset (or two, if the Wildcats lose any of their six favorable matchups).
