With the NBA Draft decisions deadline passed, it’s time for another wave of way-too-early bracketology.
The latest brackets from CBS and ESPN both have the Kentucky Wildcats as a No. 2 seed.
Joe Lunardi’s ESPN bracket has Kentucky in the East Region, up against IONA in the first round. That region’s No. 1 seed is the Duke Blue Devils. The Villanova Wildcats are the No. 3 seed, and the rival Indiana Hoosiers are in the region as a No. 9 seed.
Kentucky is one of six SEC teams in the bracket. The Mississippi State Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, Auburn Tigers and Florida Gators are also in Lunardi’s bracket.

As far as the regular season goes, based on these projections, Kentucky would have 14 games vs 10 teams that make the Big Dance, including Seton Hall, Louisville, North Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, Kansas, Florida, Duke and Mississippi State.
In Jerry Palm’s bracket for CBS, Kentucky is in the East Region again, up against South Dakota State in the first round.
Again, Duke is the one seed in the region. Palm’s bracket has eight SEC teams in it: Tennessee (who he has as a one seed), the Missouri Tigers, the Vanderbilt Commodores, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M and Mississippi State.
Needless to say, Kentucky is going to have a loaded regular season with so many of these teams already on their schedule.
