Aidan Igiehon continues to draw interest from UK, and a former Cat may help in this recruitment.
According to Kyle Tucker of SEC Country, the Kentucky Wildcats are now getting involved with the five-star big man. They also have a former player in mind when watching Igiehon.
“They compare me to Bam,” Igiehon said. “I actually talk to Bam. We text and everything, so that’s pretty cool to get an inside voice. He’s a great player. I have a mentor — more of a friend — and he talks to a lot of NBA guys. He kind of saw, like, ‘Man, this guy, he plays like Bam.’ He posted that in a group chat and we’ve been texting back and forth. We’re actually texting right now.”
The 6-10, 215-pound big man from Woodmere (NY) is playing with Team Rio in the Under Armour Association. He’s already got offers from Louisville, Florida, USC , Villanova, Oregon Virginia and Indiana among many others.
Igiehon’s highest recruiting ranking is at Rivals.com, who ranks him 23rd overall as a power forward the in the Class of 2019. He may not have an offer from UK just yet, but the interest between both sides is growing.
If Igiehon keeps up his big spring, it’s hard to see a scholarship offer not coming soon.
