Five-star center Armando Bacot has committed to the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Bacot is the No. 26 player and the No. 7 center in the class of 2019 on the 247 Sports Composite.
Bacot had 37 offers, but Kentucky had not yet offered him, despite showing some interest. He did have SEC offers from four schools: Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M and Tennessee. North Carolina was the favorite to land Bacot for quite some time, and they had almost all of the 19 predictions logged in his crystal ball prior to his commitment.
Bacot stands 6-10, 240 pounds, and is from Bradenton, Florida, who is currently attending the IMG Academy.
Kentucky doesn’t have a center commitment for 2019, and the only offer they’ve extended at the position is for No. 1 recruit James Wiseman, though they have offered other big men in Matthew Hurt and Vernon Carey.
The Wildcats still have three recruits committed: Five-star guard Tyrese Maxey, five-star small forward Kahlil Whitney and four-star small forward Dontaie Allen.
