The top-rated guard of the 2019 class, Cole Anthony, has broken his silence, sort of.
Anthony has announced that he will be transferring from Archbishop Molloy to Oak Hill Academy for his senior year. Oak Hill Academy has had a couple of major players go on to attend Kentucky, most notably Rajon Rondo and currently Keldon Johnson.
Cole cited Oak Hill Academy’s Head Coach, Steve Smith as being tough on his players, while having tough practices, and playing against tougher competition. If that sounds familiar, it should.
John Calipari famously has a near identical pitch to recruits with the addition that playing time is not guaranteed and you’re not coming here to take 30 shots per game.
As BBN hopes for Cole Anthony to commit to the Wildcats it’s still somewhat of an unknown if Cole actually has a scholarship offer from the university, although signs currently suggest he doesn’t hold an offer.
The Kentucky staff has been in contact with Cole’s dad, Greg Anthony and have been on hand at plenty of Cole’s games this summer on the EYBL circuit so an offer should come in time for him to consider taking a visit to Big Blue Madness.
In the meantime, check out some new highlights of Anthony, which includes a review by NBA superstar Kevin Durant.
