Kentucky is continuing its early contact with 2020 recruits, as John Calipari’s staff has reached out to five-star prospects Jaemyn Brakefield and Jaden Springer, per Jacob Polacheck on Twitter.
Brakefield is a five-star power forward from Huntington, West Virginia. He stands 6-8 and is currently the No. 15 player in his class on 247 Sports. He currently has 14 offers, including offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ole Miss Rebels, South Carolina Gamecocks and Kansas Jayhawks. Kentucky has not yet made an offer to Brakefield, but they’re the 100 percent favorite in his Crystal Ball.
Springer is a five-star shooting guard from Charlotte, North Carolina. Unsurprisingly, the North Carolina Tar Heels are the favorite in his Crystal Ball. He has 13 offers, including SEC offers from the Tennessee Volunteers, the Auburn Tigers, the Georgia Bulldogs, the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Vanderbilt Commodores. Kentucky has not offered him yet either.
Farrakhan is a four-star guard who transferred from St. Benedict's Prep (NJ) to IMG Academy (FL) last season. 247 Sports ranks him 31st overall and third among combo guards in the 2020 class. He holds offers from the Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes, Virginia Tech Hokies and Maryland Terrapins among others.
The Wildcats still have just two offers extended in the 2020 class, one to five-star wing Scottie Barnes and one to five-star center N’Faly Dante.
