Multiple UK targets invited to USA U18 training camp

Tyrese Maxey and Jalen Lecque are among those set to take part in this USA training camp.

USA Today High School Sports

32 of the best high school players in the country just got invited to participate in training camp for the U18 USA team. And yes, a lot of potential Kentucky recruits have been invited.

Among those include; five-star guard Tyrese Maxey, five-star guard Cole Anthony, five-star wing Keion Brooks, five star forward Matthew Hurt, four-star guard Josiah James, five-star guard Jalen Lecque, five star wing Scottie Lewis, five-star guard Bryan Antoine, and five star wing Trendon Watford.

Maxey, Hurt, Brooks and Lecque all hold offers from UK. Some of those other names that don’t hold offers could get them later this summer.

The team will compete in the 2018 FIBA Americas Championship that takes place in St. Catharines, Canada.

The USA will be looking for their 5th straight U18 gold medal at this event. The event will happen between June 10-16, and the top four teams will get the chance to compete for the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup.

Congratulations to all of these guys for even getting invited. It’s an honor to be recognized by your Country for your talents. Seeing all of the UK targets included has to put a smile on the face of BBN as well.

Finalists for the team will be announced on June 2nd, and they’ll be coached by Bill Self, Anthony Grant, and Danny Manning.
