A big time commitment from Georgia just decided he’s not ready to be bound to a commitment.
As first reported by 247 sports, Ashton Hagans is back on the market after backing off his pledge to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Hagans is a versatile point guard that weighs in a 180 lbs and stands at 6-foot-4. He’s a difference maker on the court, and now every top school in the country will be after him.
The list of schools that are potentially interested include Kentucky. The Cats never officially offered Hagans, but the coaching staff did watch him play multiple times. Now that his recruitment is back open, don’t be surprised to see UK showed renewed interest. 247 Sports (VIP article) mentions Kentucky as someone who should pursue Hagans.
Getting Hagans would be huge for Kentucky, especially considering all of the turmoil we’ve seen lately on the recruiting side. Hagans can do it all; score, rebound, assist, everything! He already has quite a few triple-doubles in high school and when he penetrates to the basket, no one can stop him.
While Georgia is still currently in the running to get him, Hagans wants to keep his options open as he is about to enter his senior season. He’s currently ranked at No. 8 overall in the country, but he’s listed as the best point guard of the 2019 class.
