The Kentucky Wildcats continue to look like the favorite to win it all next season.
Before Reid Travis made his transfer decision, UK had the fourth-best odds to win the 2019 NCAA Tournament. They were also coming in the 3-7 range of most preseason top 25 polls.
That all changed when Travis committed to the Wildcats and made this a true national title contender that’s now favored to win it all.
The latest odds from Bovada have UK just barely edging out Duke for the best odds to win it all. Ironically, the two teams will face off in Game 1 of the 2018-19 college basketball season, a possible Final Four preview.
That, however, will not be the only contender UK faces in the regular season, Kansas has the third-best odds to win it all, and they’ll come to Rupp Arena in the 2019 Big 12-SEC Challenge.
North Carolina has the seventh-best odds, and UK will face them in the 2018 CBS Sports Classic in Chicago.
Elsewhere in the SEC, Tennessee has the ninth-best odds to win it all next season, while Auburn has the 15th-best odds. UK will get four games against them in the regular season.
So to recap, that’s seven games UK has against teams in the top 15 of the best odds to win it all.
