SEC Baseball: Week 3 Power Poll Ballot

Welcome to Week 3 of the SEC Baseball power poll. My ballot this time has a lot more information on it, including the major poll rankings, my SEC PP ballot ranking from last week, and this week's rankings.

The biggest mover up this week is Tennessee, who was undefeated as of yesterday when the ballot was cast, and who stands at an impressive 10-0 right now. The Vols are playing very similarly to the Wildcats at the moment, doing a lot of very good hitting but fairly mediocre pitching and defense.

South Carolina is a convincing #1, and is #1 the most polls as well. Vanderbilt is an extremely talented team that hasn't been hitting the ball well, but their pitching and fielding has been outstanding, and I believe they lead the league in both those categories. They are followed by LSU, another very strong team

As you can see, the SEC is loaded, with 9 teams being ranked by at least one of the national polls. Virginia and Florida State are both way up there as well, and Virginia is #1 in most of the polls that don't have South Carolina in that spot. Keep in mind that Kentucky defeated the Cavaliers in the season opener.

The Wildcats, as you see, are comfortably in mid-pack right now. I wanted to elevate them above Tennessee because I think Kentucky is a better team, but you just can't argue with 10-0. The Bat Cats need to improve their pitching and fielding to have a chance to challenge for Omaha, but they have been knocking the proverbial cover off the ball lately.
