Tre Mitchell speaks out on late-game altercation vs. Missouri

Things got a bit testy late.

Tre Mitchell Dylan Ballard - A Sea Of Blue

Tre Mitchell is the veteran voice for the Kentucky Wildcats this season. Mix the former West Virginia standout with Antonio Reeves, and you have a couple of experienced players this young Kentucky team desperately needed.

When games start to get out of hand, or the team struggles on one side of the court, it is typically the veterans who are most useful to right the ship.

Well, while the Cats destroyed the Tigers on Tuesday evening, it wasn’t without some theatrics which included Mitchell.

There wasn’t a huge brawl or anything, but here’s the play that certainly could’ve escalated.

Mitchell played in all but 22 seconds of the game in the Cats 90-77 victory, finishing with 20 points, 14 boards, and three assists.

He had this to say about the incident after the game.

Mitchell was the main enforcer in the paint for Kentucky with 14 rebounds. The Cats totaled 90 points, having scored 80 or more in six straight games.

They will look to stay perfect in SEC play as they visit Texas A&M on Saturday.

Expect more of the same from Mitchell as conference games continue to get gritty over the next month.
