Another day, another SEC award for the Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team.

This week, it’s a first-time award-winner, as Aaron Bradshaw has claimed SEC Freshman of the Week honors. Bradshaw is the third different Kentucky freshman to win the award this season, as Reed Sheppard and DJ Wagner both earned it twice.

A 7-foot-1, 226-pound freshman from Rahway (NJ), Bradshaw had 10 points, seven rebounds, two steals, and a block in Kentucky’s road win over the Florida Gators. He scored all 10 of his points in the final 9:05 of the game.

With less than two minutes to play, Bradshaw had a key block, then hit the go-ahead 3-pointer on the ensuing possession to lift Kentucky to its first SEC win of the season and its 11th victory overall.

For the season, Bradshaw is averaging 7.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. He’s reached double-figure scoring three times and has at least one block in all but one of his six appearances after missing the start of the season while recovering from foot surgery.
