Adou Thiero dealing with back spasms

The talented forward has been sidelined for two weeks.

The Kentucky Wildcats will be without Adou Thiero for the second straight game as they open up SEC play against the Florida Gators.

John Calipari broke the news on his pregame show, citing “general soreness” as the issue for the sophomore forward once again.

After missing the Illinois State game last week also, Kyle Tucker of The Athletic put out some info he gathered from Adou’s father during UK’s trip to Atlanta, in which they defeated North Carolina.

“His dad told me in ATL he was dealing with back spasms. Might just be giving him time to fully heal up — because he is, as you say, very important long-term. (Or, with “general soreness,” maybe … he’s … growing again. Cal gonna unveil 6-10 point-center Adou Thiero in March.),” said Tucker.

Not sure what is going on overall with Thiero, but he will be missed against a tough interior team in the Gators today. Especially in the defensive rebounding part of the matchup.

Let’s hope the Cats can get the talented forward back before conference play gets up and running.
