The Kentucky Wildcats already have a loaded 2024 recruiting class, and there’s a good chance it gets better before it’s all said and done.

At the moment, VJ Edgecombe is the top prize and someone Kentucky badly wants, but Duke and Baylor are also strong contenders.

If Edgecombe doesn’t land in Lexington, it looks like Karter Knox could be who Kentucky pivots to. There hasn’t been a lot of buzz with Kentucky in this recruitment recently, likely due to John Calipari focusing solely on Edgecombe.

However, Kentucky is still in the mix for Knox, and he’s now planning to take an official visit on the weekend of January 20th, according to Rivals reporter David Sisk. That’s when the team hosts the Georgia Bulldogs.

The younger brother of former Wildcat Kevin Knox, Karter recently took an official visit to Louisville. However, the Cardinals are in the mix largely because of Kenny Payne, and at the rate Louisville is going, Payne won’t be the head coach there next season.

While Knox doesn’t appear to be a major priority for Kentucky right now, that’s not to say he isn’t a special prospect. He’s currently a consensus top-20 recruit ranked as high as No. 12 overall by 247 Sports Composite.

Any school would be lucky to get Karter Knox, and it’s great to see Kentucky is still very much in the mix since he’s taking an official visit very soon.
