Are the Kentucky Wildcats in danger of losing their offensive coordinator?

According to CBS Sports reporter Jonathan Jones, Liam Coen will interview with the Chicago Bears to be their next offensive coordinator.

Here’s the report.

There’s no sugarcoating this. Kentucky losing its offensive coordinator in January would be a brutal loss, one that could impact what’s been a great high school and transfer portal recruiting class.

It’s not surprising to see NFL teams are interested, as he was the Los Angeles Rams’ offensive coordinator in 2022. He was the assistant wide receivers coach for the Rams from 2018-19, then was promoted to assistant quarterbacks coach for the 2020 season.

The fact that Coen is willing to interview suggests he’s open to taking a different job. You also have to wonder if Mark Stoops’ near departure for Texas A&M has made Coen more willing to look at other jobs.

This will be something to monitor in the coming days and weeks for Kentucky Football.
