The Kentucky Wildcats are in the market for some impactful outside linebackers this offseason as they will see both JJ Weaver and Keaten Wade take the next steps in their careers.
A very familiar name has resurfaced this afternoon, as Tennessee Volunteer edge rusher Tyler Baron has entered his name into the transfer portal. Chris Hummer of 247 Sports was the first to report the news.

One of the top pass rushers in the SEC, Baron finished this season with 10.5 TFLs and 6 sacks. https://t.co/q0tFAqB4pO pic.twitter.com/fDAg3V8HRG
Baron, a 6-foot-4 and 245-pound edge linebacker from Knoxville, is a former 4-star recruit in the class of 2019 and ultimately chose the Volunteers over Kentucky the summer before the next season kicked off.
Overall he has been a very impactful player for the Vols, especially this past season. In 2023, he totaled 28 tackles and six sacks, while also adding two pass deflections and one fumble recovery.
This is also the second time that Baron has entered the portal, as he entered in January of 2022 before removing his name to remain in Knoxville.
Will the relationship that Baron had with the Kentucky staff finally win out and see him rocking the blue and white? Would be really hard to count them out in this one I would guess.
