Xavier Bausley has committed to West Virginia.

On to the next one for Kentucky.

Following weekend visits to West Virginia and Kentucky, Xavier Bausley will announce his transfer decision on Sunday, according to Sports Illustrated’s Schuyler Callihan.

Bausley is officially down to those two programs after cutting Pitt from consideration.

Will the Cats land this talented offensive lineman? We won’t have to wait much longer to find out.

The Kentucky Wildcats are making some noise on the recruiting trail. With another top-30 high school class, alongside one of the top transfer classes, the roster for the 2024 season is starting to take shape.

One of the bigger needs is some depth along the offensive line. After adding Jalen Farmer for some depth at the guard position, they are now looking to finally add a player to help the depth at the tackle spot.

According to a report by Josh Edwards of Cats Pause, Jacksonville State o-lineman Xavier Bausley has a visit scheduled to Lexington in the early part of January.

Visits for transfers can resume on January 3rd.

Bausley, a 6-foot-5 and 315-pound O-lineman from Dunbar (WV), started 11 games for the Gamecocks at right tackle this past season. His performance earned him a spot on the C-USA All-Conference Team while also being named Freshman All-American by The Athletic.

A class of 2022 recruit, Bausley had interest from Jacksonville State and West Virginia but signed with Youngstown State before eventually committing to Jacksonville State. You would think that connection to the Penguins program would also lead to a connection to Kentucky during this transfer recruitment.

Currently, things are setting up for Courtland Ford to take over at the right tackle spot, but adding a player like Bausley would be a good fit for a potential swing tackle.

Add another name to the list of players to keep on the transfer portal radar over the next few weeks for the Cats.
