The class of 2024 for the Kentucky Wildcats is starting to take shape as it features 5-star prospects Jayden Quaintance, Boogie Fland, and Billy Richmond. It also features another high school superstar from the Bluegrass in Travis Perry.
Playing for the Lyon County Lyons, Perry overtook the state scoring record last season and has continued to put up points as the team plays some tougher competition from around the country.
After a matchup with Floyd Central at Wayland High School, the Lyons headed to play at the prestigious City of Palms Classic down in Florida, where they faced off against Buckhorn (AL) and Lexington (SC).
In the two games, Perry showcased his scoring ability.
Against Buckhorn, Perry finished with 40 points on 15/22 shooting and 7/11 from three. He also added 10 rebounds and four assists.
In the prior game against Lexington (SC), he racked up 30 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. The Lyons won both matchups.
Perry might be the lowest-ranked recruit at the time in the class of 2024 for the Cats, but he is proving to be one of the elite scorers in this class against some solid competition.
Last season, Reed Sheppard took over the City of Palms Classic, and now this year, Perry is showing out.
Should be fun to watch him suit up for the Cats next season.
