Thursday Headlines: Louisville Gameday Edition

The Cats and the Cards face off this evening

Aaron Bradshaw. Huddle. Drew Brown - A Sea Of Blue

It’s finally game day!

Not just any game day, but one of the biggest days of the year for basketball fans in Kentucky as today is Cats vs. Cards. Kentucky vs. Louisville.

The Kentucky Wildcats enter today’s game as the heavy favorite, coming off a big win over the North Carolina Tar Heels last week, while the Cardinals are a program in turmoil, trying to figure out what the future of head coach Kenny Payne is as the Cardinals have stumbled to a 5-6 start to the season.

After losing three in a row which included losses to a 2-8 DePaul team and a 4-8 Arkansas State team, many wondered if Payne would still be on the Louisville sideline for this game.

However, the Cards ended that losing skid by defeating Pepperdine on Sunday and will now host the Wildcats for the annual rivalry matchup.

Today’s game is a home game for Louisville, but expect a lot of blue to fill the Yum Center. Louisville is trying to make today’s game a Red Out, but that doesn’t seem like it’s going to turn out well with the Big Blue Nation invading the Yum Center.

It’s a big day in the Bluegrass State when this game rolls around, and today is no exception!

Tweet of the Day

The NCAA is useless.
