The Kentucky Wildcats just landed a major National Signing Day commitment, as 4-star recruit Cam Dooley has officially committed to the Cats and signed his NLI.

Dooley is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound, 4-star safety from the class of 2024 ranked 213th overall, according to 247 Sports. Originally committed to Missouri, Dooley decided to open up his recruitment, and Kentucky has been a major player all the way.

Kentucky was one of the few schools to offer Dooley, who hails from Alabama, but Missouri and Vanderbilt were other schools that had been in the mix since the beginning of February. Dooley went on an unofficial visit to Kentucky back in March, but he decided to commit to the Missouri Tigers in July.

Since then, Dooley decommitted from Missouri back in October, and Kentucky has been in contact with him. Well, with the coaching staff continuing to be in contact with the safety, he decided to sign his National Letter of Intent with Kentucky.

The latest signing will help to strengthen the safety room after Jalen Geiger announced he would be transferring. Kentucky at the safety position currently features Jordan Lovett, Ty Bryant, and Zion Childress.

Dooley will be competing with other experienced players but could fight for some playing time against Bryant, who received a lot of playing time at the end of the year.

Overall, it is great to see Kentucky be able to land a commitment that many thought they were going to land the first time.
