Can I get a Yahtzee!?

With National Signing Day here, the Kentucky Wildcats are rounding out their high school class, as well as adding some new transfers along the way for 2024.

With both classes looking great, Mark Stoops and his staff have now added a key piece to add to the Big Blue Wall. This time, it comes from a player out of Gainesville.

Jalen Farmer, an offensive line transfer from the Florida Gators, took to Twitter today to announce his commitment to the Cats. Farmer chose the Cats over the Tennessee Volunteers. He took visits to Kentucky and Tennessee after entering the portal, and it was Mark Stoops and Co. who were able to win out in the end.

Farmer, a 6-foot-5 and 310-pound o-lineman out of Covington (GA), originally chose the Gators out of high school over offers from Kentucky, Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, and a few others. He was ranked as a 3-star recruit in the class of 2022 and considered a top-50 interior offensive lineman in the class by 247 Sports Composite.

Farmer’s highest evaluation was by ESPN, who ranked him 17th among interior o-lineman in the 2022 class and 53rd in the football-rich state of Georgia.

After redshirting and logging 29 offensive snaps in 2022, Farmer logged 27 snaps this season. He’s viewed as a developmental prospect with high upside and should compete for serious playing time in 2024.

For Kentucky, this fit makes perfect sense. After pushing hard to land the talented o-lineman out of high school, the coaching staff once again maintained a great relationship with Farmer, which ultimately helped in this transfer recruitment.

Now, the Cats add an SEC lineman who should help alongside Eli Cox, Jager Burton, Dylan Ray, Ben Christman, and a few other rotational guards on the o-line.

Farmer now joins a transfer class that features Brock Vandagriff, Jamon Dumas-Johnson, Chip Trayanum, Ja’Mori Maclin, Raymond Cottrell, and Beau Allen. With several other offers on the board, don't be shocked to see some other commitments coming over the next 24 hours.

Welcome to the BBN Jalen! Go Cats!
