Is there anything better than Kentucky Wildcats vs. Louisville Cardinals in any sport? Big Blue Nation has been on the better end of several matchups over the last few years and Kentucky basketball is in line to continue the tradition of knocking down the Cardinals this Thursday.
Kentucky enters the game 8-2 on the season, most recently defeating North Carolina in the CBS Sports Classic but also beating Miami last month. The Wildcats have lost to Kansas and UNC-Wilmington but, for the most part, have looked pretty stellar this season.
The same can’t be said for the Cardinals, who enter the game with a losing record of 5-6. Their losses have been at the hands of Chattanooga, Texas, Indiana, Virginia Tech, DePaul, and Arkansas State. They really don’t have a marquee win to lean on, either, which has led to what appear to be real questions regarding the future of head coach Kenny Payne.
According to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index, Kentucky has an 86.4% chance of winning on Thursday night. While the Wildcats are considerable favorites in this one, the game will be played at Louisville, so a win won’t come easy, nor will it be a friendly atmosphere.
Tip-off for Thursday night’s game is 6 PM ET with television coverage on ESPN.
