John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats are looking to land another top-ranked recruiting class in 2025.
Darius Acuff is currently ranked as the No. 8 overall player and the No. 1 overall point guard in the 2025 class.
The 6-foot-3 guard was one of the standout performers from this year’s National Hoops Festival when he finished with 31 points, three rebounds, and two assists in their loss to Bullis School.
Acuff was recently on a visit to Kentucky, and in an interview with 247 Sports, he talked about the programs involved in his recruitment and had a lot of positives to say about Kentucky.
“Kentucky was a great visit, It was family, and It’s Kentucky. Coach Cal and coach Chin showed love.”
He continued, “On the visit they told me to watch DJ Wagner and see how he talks and his leadership as the point guard of the team. They’d want to play my game if I were to go there, get to the next level and be a leader. Most of our conversations was about being a leader 24/7 because the team will go how you go.”
As for his recruitment, he says that it is still open, and he is not ready to drop a top list yet.
“My recruitment is still open right now,” he said. “I’m not dropping a top list that will come either after the season or even after EYBL.”
