The Kentucky Wildcats don’t battle the 5-1 Auburn Tigers until February 17, but Bruce Pearl is already making his usual jabs.

Yes, it’s not even 2024, and Kentucky already has some real estate in Pearl’s mind.

Pearl said that the Tigers will be hosting a t-shirt night at Auburn Arena when they welcome the Wildcats so that head coach John Calipari doesn’t “get his feelings hurt.” He is inferring that the Cats need some type of special attention to feel welcome.

With Kentucky sitting 12th in the country, it could be Auburn’s most important game of the season, so it was likely the team was going to do some type of color scheme with shirts regardless.

The Tigers have played one close game this season, an 88-82 loss to the top-10 Baylor Bears. The Wildcats, on the other hand, have a blowout victory over then-top-10 Miami and a close loss to the top-five Kansas Jayhawks.

That said, the Cats should be expecting a loud environment when they roll into town for that mid-February conference battle with Auburn.
