Update: Izayah Cummings has found his next home.

On Monday, Cummings announced his commitment to the Louisville Cardinals.

The Louisville native made the announcement on Twitter.

Another day, another transfer portal announcement for the Kentucky Wildcats.

This time, it’s tight end Izayah Cummings who has decided to go portaling.

The Bluegrass native made the announcement on Instagram. He will be a graduate transfer.

Formerly a class of 2020 recruit out of Louisville Male, Cummings began his career as a wide receiver but moved to tight end and enjoyed a solid 2021 season, catching 14 passes for 195 yards and three touchdowns.

However, the 6-foot-3, 232-pound Cummings fell behind Josh Kattus and Jordan Dingle in 2022 and did not catch a pass.

That’s about how the 2023 season was going for Cummings right up until the showdown with the No. 10 Louisville Cardinals.

After catching three balls for 43 yards in the previous week’s loss at South Carolina, the Louisville product hauled in a 55-yard reception in the third quarter that set up a Ray Davis touchdown and cut the Cards’ lead to 24-21.

Kentucky went on to win 38-31 for a season-defining win that Cummings made a massive play in, so he’s going out on a high note.

Cummings joins safety Jalen Geiger, offensive lineman Grant Bingham, defensive lineman Jamarius Dinkins, and wide receiver Dekel Crowdus as Kentucky players to announce their intention to enter the transfer portal, which officially opens December 4th.

Best of luck to Cummings as he looks to find a new home!
