Davis is ready to pursue his NFL dreams.

Kentucky Wildcats running back Ray Davis has announced he is entering the 2024 NFL Draft.

Davis announced the news Monday following Kentucky’s massive Saturday upset of the No. 10 Louisville Cardinals. That included Davis scoring the game-winning touchdown with a minute left.

The message does not say if the 5-foot-10, 216-pound Davis plans to play in the bowl game or skip it, but the expectation is he will opt out of it.

In 12 games this season, Davis had 186 carries for 1,066 yards (5.7 avg) and 13 touchdowns. He also caught 29 passes for 317 yards (10.9 avg) and seven scores. He leaves Kentucky holding the school record for total touchdowns in a single season at 20.

The highlight of Davis’ 2023 season came against then-No. 22 Florida in Week 5, running for 280 yards on 26 carries (10.8 avg) and three touchdowns while catching a nine-yard score in the 33-14 victory.

However, we can’t forget about what he did this past week. On the road against 10-1 Louisville, who was still in the College Football Playoff hunt, Davis had 14 runs for 76 yards (5.4 avg) and one score while catching four balls for 51 yards and two TDs.

That’s 416 total yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns in Kentucky’s two top-25 wins of the season.

Prior to his one year at Kentucky, Davis played at Temple (2019–20) and Vanderbilt (2021–22). He finishes his college career with 3,563 rushing yards, 756 receiving yards, and 40 total touchdowns.

For what it’s worth, Pro Football Focus currently has Davis ranked as the 11th-best running back prospect in the 2024 draft class. If that’s the kind of range NFL teams have him in, then Davis should have a great shot at hearing his name called in the Round 4-6 range.

Best of luck to Davis as he looks to make his NFL dreams a reality! And thanks for the memories!!
