Jalen Geiger to transfer, per report

Geiger is ready to use his final season of eligibility elsewhere.

Jalen Geiger Dylan Ballard - A Sea of Blue

Kentucky Wildcats safety Jalen Geiger is entering the transfer portal. On3 reporter Grant Grubbs broke the news first.

In 10 games this season, the South Carolina native has nine tackles and a fumble returned for a touchdown in Week 1 vs. Ball State.

Originally a class of 2019 recruit, Geiger has one season of eligibility remaining.

In 29 career games, he’s logged 38 total tackles, one tackle for loss, two pass deflections, a pick-six at Vanderbilt in 2021, and the fumble-return touchdown this season.

Sadly, Geiger has battled injuries this year and throughout his career, including a season-ending knee injury at Florida in 2022. He has logged just 14 defensive snaps over the last two games while Ty Bryant, Zion Childress, and Jordan Lovett got the majority of reps at safety, so the writing was on the wall for Geiger to find a new team if he wants to be a starter.

Best of luck to Geiger in finding the perfect fit at his next home!
