The Kentucky Wildcats are in the running for a 5-star forward who will decide in just over a month.

6-foot-9 forward Kwame Evans Jr. will be making his decision on Aug. 15, and Kentucky is among the final four teams being considered.

Although the Cats aren’t viewed as the favorite for the talented forward, they remain in the running.

That favored designation belongs to Arizona, which holds 4 of 5 Crystal Ball picks. including one just entered yesterday.

Evans is viewed as one of the top 10 prospects in the class, with some believing he could climb higher than his #8 spot in the composite rankings if not for some consistency issues.

“Evans has been the subject of as many internal debates amongst the 247 Sports staff as any player in America,” 247 Sports’ Eric Bossi wrote. “When he’s on his length, versatility and skill are exciting at nearly 6-foot-10. When he’s floating and inconsistent, he’s frustrating.”

Kentucky is in good shape with the 2023 class and almost certainly would love to add Evans to that group, but a lot of momentum is swinging toward the Wildcats out west. Let’s see if Kentucky can make a late push.
