After a canceled official visit this past weekend with the Kentucky Wildcats, Nick Smith Jr. has officially cut them from his list, according to Joe Tipton of On3.

The top-20 player from North Little Rock (AR) recently cut his list and will now consider a final seven of Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Arkansas- Pine Bluff, Memphis, Kansas, and Oklahoma. He cut all his professional offers from his list currently.

Smith has already taken visits to Alabama, Auburn, and Kansas throughout the summer, and he’s also set to see Arkansas and Oklahoma in the coming weeks. With the two new schools added in Memphis and UAPB, this recruitment is nowhere near finished.

Pine-Bluff received a visit two weeks back, and a visit to Memphis has not yet been scheduled. His current commitment date is scheduled for November 20th, but don’t be shocked to see that date changed as well.

At one point, Smith was trending to be the second commitment of the class for Kentucky, but after an injury that sidelined him for some time, the momentum seemed to die off. That is one big reason this move was expected to come sooner rather than later.

Kentucky has gained serious momentum with Cason Wallace and Chris Livingston in the last few weeks, and they seem to be trending towards selecting UK in the coming months. Alongside them, Kentucky already has a commitment from 5-star guard Skyy Clark, and they’re the heavy favorites to land the top player in the Class of 2022, Shaedon Sharpe, once he commits later this evening.
